On a tight budget, but want to add some flair to those outdated cabinets in your kitchen? According to the design experts over at HGTV.com Kitchen Design, a splash of color can go a long way towards transforming your kitchen. When it comes to kitchen inspirations, today’s top interior designers are showing their true colors.

“Most kitchens have minimal wall space, so it's a good place to splash some bold color and make a statement without overpowering the room,” designer Jamie Drake tells HGTV.com Kitchen Design… “People are viewing kitchens that have too much of any one color as flat, so more color is definitely the way to go.” Drake is the author of New American Glamour, and works with celebs like Madonna and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

And since stainless steel appliances aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, designers are finding ways to add colors that complement the contemporary fixtures.

Drake suggests "you can use more adventurous colors to frame a stainless steel sink or inlay brighter colored tiles around dark color cabinets."
